Vom 21.-23. Juli 2020 stehen an der Bauhaus-Universität mehrere große Wahlen an. Es werden Vertreter*innen für den Senat, den Fakultätsrat, den Gleichstellungsbeirat und den FachschaftsRat gesucht. Diesbezüglich wollen wir dich ermutigen, das Uni-Leben aktiv mitzugestalten. Mit deiner Stimme hast du die Möglichkeit, die Universität, deine Fakultät und dein Studium zu beeinflussen. Werde selbst Teil eines Gremiums oder wähle dein*e Kandidat*in am 21., 22. und 23. Juli. Wenn du ehrenamtlich engagiert bist, Lust auf Mitgestalten und Organisieren hast, reiche deine Bewerbung bis zum 17. Juni ein.

FachschaftsRat
Die Studierenden der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen bilden die Fachschaft. Einmal im Jahr wählt die Fachschaft ein Gremium, dass sie vertritt, den FachschaftsRat. Dieser entsendet studentische Vertreter in Ausschüsse und weitere Gremien. Hauptsächlich ist der FachschaftsRat die Anlaufstelle für studentische Anliegen und kümmert sich darum diese zu bearbeiten oder an die zuständigen Gremienvertreter heranzutragen. Eine weitere Aufgabe des FachschaftsRates ist es wichtige Entscheidungen, Veränderungen und Neuigkeiten an die Studierenden zu kommunizieren. Neben dem bleibt aber in der Regel noch genug Zeit um auch eigene Ziele umzusetzen, wie etwa die Organisation einer Hörsaaltischversteigerung oder die Organisation der Ersti-Woche. Aus den FachschaftsRäten jeder Fakultät werden Mitglieder entsandt, welche den Studierendenkonvent (StuKo) bilden. Dort werden dann Themen behandelt, welche nicht nur für die Studierenden einzelner Fakultäten, sondern für alle releveant sind.
Fakultätsrat
Der Fakultätsrat beschäftigt sich mit Themen aus Forschung und Lehre, welche für die Fakultät aber nicht für die Universität relevant sind. Hier werden Studien- Prüfungsordnung diskutiert und beschlossen, Struktur- und Entwicklungspläne bearbeitet und Berufungskomission für neu zu berufende Professor*innen gebildet. Des Weiteren wird sich mit der Finanzmittelverteilung für die einzelnen Professuren beschäftigt und Entfristungen von Mitarbeiter*innen diskutiert. Auch Themen von hohem studentischen Interesse wie die Gestaltung der Evaluationsbögen werden hier besprochen. Der Fakultätsrat bietet somit einen detaillierten Einblick in die Funktionsweisen und Abläufe innerhalb der Fakultät. Als Studierendenvertreter*in hast du somit die Möglichkeit, dich einerseits mit an der Organisation der Fakultät zu beteiligen und andererseits studentische Anliegen vorzutragen.
Senat
Der Senat ist das zentrale, akademische Kollegialorgan der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Er hat als offizielles Gremium Aufgaben zu erfüllen, welche im Thüringer Hochschulgesetz (ThürHG) unter §35 Senat definiert sind, darunter beispielsweise die Mitwirkung bei der Wahl und Abwahl von Präsident*in und Kanzler*in sowie die Wahl und Abwahl der Hochschulratsmitglieder. Der Senat ist befugt Studiengänge einzurichten, zu ändern oder aufzuheben und er gibt Stellungnahmen ab.
Die Struktur der Senatssitzungen an der Bauhaus Universität Weimar sind ähnlich aufgebaut wie die des StuKo, so wird zu Beginn jeder Sitzung, als TOP 1, die Beschlussfähigkeit geprüft und das Protokoll der vorangegangenen Sitzung beschlossen. Auch die Tagesordnung, die im Vorhinein jedem Senatsmitglied zugesandt wird, wird beschlossen, abgestimmt oder erweitert.
Nach diesen Formalia folgt als TOP 2 ein Bericht aus dem Präsidium- Präsident*in, Kanzler*in und Vizepräsident*innen. Sie berichten aus ihren Bereichen und informieren über aktuelle Themen, Veranstaltungen und Projekten. Die Nachfolgenden TOPs sind individuell an aktuelle Themen und Debatten innerhalb der Universität angeschlossen. Der Senat tagt einmal im Monat, am ersten Mittwoch des Monats. Die Sitzungen des Senates und seiner Ausschüsse sind universitätsöffentlich.

Sophie, 22, Bachelor Bauingenieuerwesen [KUB] 8.Semester Vertiefung Baustoffe und Sanierung
Mitglied im FsR B seit Mai 2018. Mitglied im StudierendenKonvent, hier tauschen wir uns über universitätsweite Themen aus, dabei habe ich viele neue Gesichter aus den anderen Fakultäten kennen gelernt und wichtige Kontakte geknüpft, auch Verbindung zur Universitätsleitung und anderen Angehörigen der Universität spielen eine Rolle im Amt.
Mein Highlight: Hauptorganisation der Ersti-Woche 2019, es war eine große Bereicherung, viel Arbeit und viel Verantwortung alle Leute zusammen zu bringen und zu koordinieren und natürlich den Erstis einen angenehmen Start in Weimar zu schaffen.

Gabi, 19, Bachelor Bauingenieurwesen KUB, 4. Semester
Vorstand des StuKo. Es gibt von jeder Fakultät einen Vorstand, also insgesamt 4. Wir treffen uns mehrmals die Woche mit der Geschäftsführung zu verschiedensten Terminen und tragen sozusagen die Verantwortung für alles was in den Initiativen, Referate und in der Studierendenvertretung passiert. Zum Beispiel überprüfen wir immer die Anträge auf Kostenerstattung, wenn eine Initiative was gekauft hat, treffen uns regelmäßig mit der Uni-Leitung und und und ! Da ist echt viel zu tun :)
Mein Highlight waren in dieser Legislatur die Verhandlungen mit dem DNT. Es hat super viel Spaß gemacht einen neuen Vertrag zum DNT-Semesterticket zu erarbeiten, weil ich das Ticket an sich auch echt super finde !

Clara 21, Bachelor Bauingenieurwesen KUB, 4.Semester
Mitglied im FachschaftsRat Bauingenieurwesen. Wir sind 12 Studierende die direkt von den Studenten unserer Fakultät gewählt wurden. Der FachschaftsRat setzt sich für die Studierende ein und kann als Kommunikationsorgan zwischen Fakultäten, Studierenden, Präsidium, Dekanat usw. gesehen werden.
Meine spezielle Aufgabe im FsR war es, für die Sitzung das Protokoll zu schreiben und unseren Social-Media Account zu verwalten.
Das Highlight dieser Legislatur für mich war die Summaery. Unser Organisationsteam, welches aus ein paar FachschaftsRatmitgliedern und engagierten Studierenden bestand, haben verschiedenste Installationen gebaut und ausgestellt, die den Studienalltag eines Bauingo repräsentieren.

Alexander, 24, Management [Bau, Immobilien, Infrastruktur]; 2. Semester M.sc.
Mitglied im Fachschaftsrat und Fakultätsrat seit Mai 2018. Als Mitglied im Fakultätsrat habe ich die Studierenden in Diskussionen um neue Prüfungs- und Studienordnung, sowie Finanzierungsangelegenheiten der Fakultät und Qualitätsverbesserungsmaßnahmen in der Lehre vertreten. Auch haben wir von dort aus Arbeitsgruppen für die Organisation der Summaery oder auch den Fakultätsgeburtstag organisiert. Besonders schön war der Fakultätsgeburtstag im Juli 2019, da hier Studierende und Dozenten eng miteinander zusammengearbeitet haben. Auch fand ich die Tombola, welche von dem FachschaftsRat organisiert wurde sehr gelungen, gerade weil dadurch viele Spendengelder generiert werden konnten.
Tuan, 26, Umweltingenieurwissenschaften (B.Sc)
Mitglied des FachschaftsRates 2019/20. Hier sitzen 12 studentische Vertreter, die von den Studierenden der Uni Weimar direkt gewählt werden. Der FachschaftsRat organisiert viele Aktivitäten, bestimmt die studentische Besetzung wichtiger Gremien an der Universität und sind die direkten Ansprechpartner der Studierenden bei Problemen.

Janna, 22, Management [Bau, Immobilien, Infrastruktur]
Zwei Jahre habe ich die Studierenden im Senat vertreten und dort meine Stimme erhoben. Am ersten Mittwoch im Monat tagt dieses Gremium und diskutiert über Themen, die die gesamte Universität betreffen. Der Senat ist das Entscheidungsgremium der Universität und ist daher sehr wichtig. Häufig diskutieren wir über Studien- und Prüfungsordnungen & Berufungsverfahren. Entscheidungen des Senates beeinflussen das zukünftige Handeln und Wirken der Universität also maßgeblich. Sich gegenüber den anderen Statusgruppen zu behaupten, oder die richtigen Worte zu finden ist zwar nicht immer einfach, aber man ist nicht allein! Gemeinsam mit den studentischen Senatoren der anderen Fakultäten schafft man es sich zu behaupten und sich einzumischen.
Senator*in zu sein bedeutet auch sich mit den Mitgliedern der anderen Gremien im Gespräch zu sein und die Stimmung der Studierenden aufzunehmen, wichtig ist es auch dem FachschaftsRat von den Senatssitzungen zu berichten.
Ich war gerne Mitglied im Senat, da man dort quasi die gesamte Universität im Überblick hat. In den studentischen Senatoren der anderen Fakultäten habe ich gute Freunde und Verbündete gefunden. Ich habe es genossen Einblicke in das Agieren der anderen Fakultäten zu gewinnen und den "Wegen der Universität" näher zu kommen.

Wir mischten uns bereits bei den ersten Entwürfen des Ministeriums ein und setzten uns beispielsweise dafür ein, dass es keine Anwesenheitspflicht gibt. Nachdem das ThürHG beschlossen wurde folgten Schritte der Umsetzung, die bis heute andauern.
Besonders spannend wird die Vielzahl der Berufung neuer Professor*innen in den nächsten Monaten insbesondere die Tenure-Track-Professuren (Junior-Profs.) haben Potential neuen Schwung in die Universität zu bringen.

Zudem gehörten die Verwaltung der Social Media Accounts und Protokollführung zu meinen Aufgaben.

Mitglied im Fachschaftsrat und Fakultätsrat seit Mai 2019. Ich war Studentenvertreter des englischen Sprachkurses Natural Hazards and Risks in Structural Engineering (NHRE). Meine Aufgabe war es immer, den internationalen Studierenden bei ihren Problemen zu helfen. Die gleichen Probleme wurden bei verschiedenen Gelegenheiten auch im Fakultätsrat diskutiert. Ich war auch für die M18-Website verantwortlich. Die Ersti-Woche war auch ein Highlight im letzten Semester.

Student Council (FsR)
Once a year the students elects a committee to represent them. The student council is the central body of the students. It coordinates the representatives in the Senate, the Faculty Council and the Study Commission. At the same time, it is the contact point for student concerns and takes care of dealing with them or referring them to the responsible committee representatives. Another task of the Student Council is to communicate important decisions, changes and news to the students. Apart from this, there is usually enough time to realize own goals, such as the organization of a lecture hall table auction or the organization of the Ersti- week. Members are sent from the student councils of each faculty to form the Studierendenkonvent (StuKo). There, topics are dealt with which are relevant not only for the students of individual faculties, but for all.
Faculty Council (Fakultätsrat)
The Faculty Council deals with topics from research and teaching which are relevant for the faculty but not for the university. Here, study and examination regulations are discussed and decided upon, structural and development plans are worked on and appointment committees for new professors to be appointed are formed. Furthermore, the distribution of financial resources for the individual professors is dealt with and the expiration of time limits for employees is discussed. Topics of high student interest, such as the design of the evaluation forms, are also discussed here. The faculty council thus offers a detailed insight into the functioning and processes within the faculty. As a student representative you have the opportunity to participate in the organisation of the faculty and to present student concerns.

The Senate is the central, academic collegial body of the Bauhaus University of Weimar. As an official body, it has to fulfil tasks that are defined in the Thuringian Higher Education Act (ThürHG) under §35 Senate, including, for example, participation in the election and de-election of the President and Chancellor as well as the election and de-election of members of the University Council. The Senate is authorized to establish, change or cancel courses of study and it issues statements.

Member of the StuKo, here we exchange information about university-wide topics, I got to know many new faces from the other faculties and made important contacts, connections to the university management and other members of the university also play a role in the office.
My highlight: Main organisation of the Freshmen-Week 2019, it was a great enrichment, a lot of work and responsibility to bring all the people together and to coordinate them and of course to give the first-time students a pleasant start in Weimar.

Gabi, 19, Bachelor Bauingenieurwesen KUB, 4. Semester
Board of the StuKo. There is a board of directors of each faculty, that is a total of 4. We meet several times a week with the management at different dates and are responsible for everything that happens in the initiatives, lectures and in the student representation. For example, we always check the applications for reimbursement, if an initiative has bought something, we meet regularly with the university management and so on! There is really a lot to do :)
My highlight in this legislature were the negotiations with the DNT. It was a lot of fun to work out a new contract for the DNT semester ticket, because I really like the ticket itself!

Clara 21, Bachelor Bauingenieurwesen KUB, 4.Semester
Member of the student council Civil Engineering. We are 12 students directly elected by the students of our faculty. The FachschaftsRat stands up for the students and can be seen as an organ of communication between faculties, students, board, deanery etc.
My special task at FsR was to write the protocol for the meeting and manage our social media account.
The highlight of this legislature for me was the summaery. Our organization team, which consisted of a few student council members and dedicated students, built and exhibited various installations representing the everyday life of a civil engeener student.

Alexander, 24, Management [Bau, Immobilien, Infrastruktur]; 2. Semester M.sc.
As a member of the faculty council, I represented the students in discussions about new examination and study regulations, as well as financing issues of the faculty and quality improvement measures in teaching. From there, we also organised working groups for the organisation of the summaery or the faculty birthday party. The faculty birthday in July 2019 was especially nice, as students and lecturers worked closely together here. I also found the raffle, which was organized by the student council, very successful, especially because it generated a lot of donations.

Member of the student council 2019/20. 12 student representatives sit here, who are directly elected by the students of Weimar University. The student council organizes many activities, determines the composition of important committees at the university and is the direct contact for students in case of problems.

For two years I represented the students in the senate and raised my voice there. This committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month and discusses issues that affect the entire university. The Senate is the decision-making body of the university and is therefore very important. We often discuss study and examination regulations & appointment procedures. Decisions made by the Senate therefore have a decisive influence on the future actions and work of the university. Standing up to the other status groups or finding the right words is not always easy, but you are not alone! Together with the student senators of the other faculties, one manages to assert oneself and to interfere.
To be a senator* also means to be in conversation with the members of the other committees and to take up the mood of the students. It is also important to report about the senate meetings to the student council.
I liked being a member of the Senate, because there you have an overview of the entire university. I found good friends and allies in the student senators of the other faculties. I enjoyed gaining insights into the activities of the other faculties and getting closer to the "ways of the university".
Since 2018, the "new" Thuringian Higher Education Act accompanied me. We got involved as early as the ministry's first drafts and campaigned, for example, to make sure that there was no compulsory attendance. After the ThürHG was passed, steps were taken to implement it, which are still ongoing today.
The multitude of new professorships to be appointed in the coming months will be particularly exciting, especially the tenure-track professorships (junior professors) have the potential to bring new momentum to the university.

I enjoyed gaining insights into the activities of the other faculties and getting closer to the "ways of the university".
Since 2018, the "new" Thuringian Higher Education Act accompanied me. We got involved as early as the ministry's first drafts and campaigned, for example, to make sure that there was no compulsory attendance. After the ThürHG was passed, steps were taken to implement it, which are still ongoing today.
The multitude of new professorships to be appointed in the coming months will be particularly exciting, especially the tenure-track professorships (junior professors) have the potential to bring new momentum to the university.

I was deputy chair of the student council.
My area of responsibility included chairing the meeting, making arrangements with the chair, welcoming the first students in 2019 and a few other things that came up during the course of the legislature.
My responsibilities also included the administration of the social media accounts and taking minutes.
One of my highlights of this legislature was the summaery, where I was part of the organizing team, which consisted of a few members of the student council and volunteers. It was nice to be able to show from the side of the civil engineers how our everyday study life looks like.
In addition, the organisation of the box run of the Ersti week was also exciting, as you could meet many new faces and give everyone a nice start into university life.

I was a student representative of the English language course Natural Hazards and Risks in Structural Engineering (NHRE). My job was always to help the international students with their problems. The same problems were discussed on various occasions in the faculty council. I was also responsible for the M18 website. The Ersti- week was also a highlight of the last semester.
