Nach den jüngsten Ereignissen hat der StuKo einen offenen Brief als Stellungnahme an das Präsidium und die Studierendenschaft verfasst. Ziel ist es, sich von den aktuell geplanten Maßnahmen auf dem Universitätscampus zu distanzieren und die Studierenden zu informieren.
After recent events, the StuKo has written an open letter as a statement to the presidium and the students. The aim is to distance themselves from the currently planned measures on the university campus and to inform the students.
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
der Vertretung der Studierendenschaft liegen Berichte vor, dass ab dem 01.12.2022 auf Grund seit Jahren anhaltenden und den letzten Wochen zugespitzten Situation auf dem Campus durch externe Personengruppen Folgendes beschlossen wurde: Der Bau eines Zauns im PD-Innenhof, Alkohol- und Glasflaschenverbot auf dem ganzen Campus ab 20:30 Uhr und der Abbau des Freiraum Pavillons neben dem Hauptgebäude. Außerdem wurden an uns in den letzten Tagen verstärkt Vorfälle herangetragen, dass Studierende ihre Arbeitsräume im Hauptgebäude und dem Van-der-Velde Bau gegen 22 Uhr auf Anweisung verlassen mussten.
Von einem seit Jahren angekündigten Dialog zwischen Universitätsleitung, Stadt, Polizei und Studierendenschaft, um zu genannter Problematik geeignete Lösungen gemeinsam zu erarbeiten, fanden nicht statt. All diese Entscheidungen wurden über die Köpfe der Studierendenschaft hinweg gefasst. Wir verstehen uns als offene und demokratische Universität. Diese Maßnahmen und der fehlende Dialog widersprechen diesem Verständnis und dem Bild, welches die Universität nach außen repräsentieren möchte.
Die Vertreter*innen der Studierendenschaft wehren sich gegen die genannten Maßnahmen. Sie schränken die Freiheit der Studierenden und aller Universitätsangehörigen erheblich ein. Anhaltende Krisensituationen der letzten Jahre, erzeugen kontinuierlich Unsicherheiten in vielfältigen Lebensbereichen von Studierenden. Der Erhalt des Studienalltages in Präsenz, schien in den vergangenen Wochen oberste Priorität seitens der Verantwortlichen zu sein. Die uns bekannten Vorfälle widersprechen den noch vor kurzen erteilten Zusagen, wie beispielsweise der Versprechung der Offenhaltung der Arbeitsräume.
Die vom Präsidium beschlossenen Anträge für den Aufbau eines Zauns und den Abbau des Pavillons sehen wir nicht als zielführendes Handeln gegenüber tiefgreifender struktureller Probleme im öffentlichen Raum der Stadt Weimar. Sie richten sich nicht gegen die Ursache des Problems, sondern gegen die Studierenden der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Wir kritisieren den fehlenden Dialog und fordern, dass die Beschlüsse nicht realisiert werden.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
the representation of the student body has received reports that as of December 1, 2022, the following has been decided due to the situation on campus, which has been ongoing for years and has become more acute in recent weeks due to external groups of people: The construction of a fence in the PD courtyard, alcohol and glass bottle ban on the entire campus from 8:30 pm and the dismantling of the Freiraum Pavilion next to the main building. In addition, in the last few days we have been increasingly confronted with incidents of students having to leave their workrooms in the main building and the Van der Velde Building at 10 p.m. on instruction.
A dialogue between the university management, the city, the police and the student body, which had been announced for years, in order to jointly work out suitable solutions to the above-mentioned problems, did not take place. All these decisions were made over the heads of the student body. We see ourselves as an open and democratic university. These measures and the lack of dialogue contradict this understanding and the image that the university would like to represent to the outside world.
The representatives of the student body oppose these measures. They considerably restrict the freedom of the students and all university members. The ongoing crisis situations of the last years continuously create insecurities in various areas of students' lives. The preservation of the daily study routine in presence, seemed to be the highest priority on the part of the responsible persons in the past weeks. The incidents known to us contradict the promises made only a short time ago, such as the promise to keep the study rooms open.
We do not see the applications for the erection of a fence and the dismantling of the pavilion, which were decided by the presidium, as purposeful action against profound structural problems in the public space of the city of Weimar. They are not directed against the cause of the problem, but against the students of the Bauhaus University Weimar.
We criticize the lack of dialogue and demand that the resolutions are not realized.
